wow. blast from the past. i saw this on tv when i was so young and stupid.
i do remember the plot. and the crazy conversation after the first night together. the weird way the man had his watch in advance. how they met every year, in some of those years she was pregnant. how he cried, for the first time, for losing a son in vietnam. how they grew old together, even the hotel that straddles that crag grew old, but in a very beautiful way.
come to think of it, the movie, i think, was more about friendship between two people.

I really really like this movie too. I do some old-movie hunting whenever I get into a video store but I have yet to see this one for sale.
